What is International Education Week About?

International Education Week (IEW) is a joint initiative started in 2000 by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to recognize and foster the global student exchange system that exists among the U.S. and other countries.

International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate and highlight international education and exchange opportunities, and other globally focused activities. The week is dedicated to enhancing international awareness across and recognizing the value of the exchange of students and scholars across borders.
