Turnitin is the platform Brescia University uses for plagiarism and AI detection. All instructors have access through the Moodle plugin, Moodle LTI external tool as well as through Turnitin.com using their BU login.
To use Turnitin with a forum the Turnitin plagiarism plugin must be used. This can be accessed through the assignment settings.
Turnitin assignments can be created using the new LTI 1.3 integration through activity selection. Creating assignments using the LTI 1.3 tool makes it clear to students that Turnitin will be used to assess their assignment for plagiarism and AI use. There is also a new similarity report and (New) Standard Assignment settings. The Feedback Studio in Turnitin offers many tools for commenting on student work.
Using Turnitin with Outcomes in Moodle: If using a GERO rubric or other rubric connected to an Outcome be aware that the Turnitin plugin through assignment settings must be used. The Turnitin LTI 1.3 integration is an external tool, therefore rubric data can't be accessed through Moodle.
Another way to use Turnitin is through the Quick Submit feature at Turnitin.com. This allows you to submit student work individually if you have not applied Turnitin to the assignment in Moodle.
