This unit begins with an examination of exponents, their properties and manipulations. It then turns to an examination of polynomials -- functions built from variables with natural number exponents. In working with polynomials, we study operations on polynomials (like addition or division). The unit ends with an extensive look at factoring polynomials -- ideas critical to working with most non-linear mathematics.
